About
Brief Bio
As a lawyer with a passion for operations, I thrive at the intersection of law, business, and technology. I hold a JD and MBA from Georgetown University, as well as an LL.B. from the University of Nigeria. I began my legal career at Sullivan & Cromwell, working on IPOs, debt offerings, derivatives, and structured finance transactions. Later, as a partner at a boutique firm in DC, I honed my skills further. Eventually, I transitioned from law firm life to become the first General Counsel of a higher education management company.
After spending some time with the company, I became intrigued by Web3 and decided to pursue my interest in the space. Until recently, I served as the Chief Legal Officer of Paxful, a global peer-to-peer platform for buying and selling Bitcoin and stablecoins. Currently, I hold the positions of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at OpenNode, a Bitcoin payments infrastructure company.
When not working, I prioritize my roles as a husband and father to my three children. Although my professional interests lie in the tech space, my personal passions are analog. I relish the experience of reading a hardcover book, listening to vinyl records, tinkering with tube amplifiers, and driving fast cars.
